Note:
- The name of the day comes from the pronunciation for the numbers 3 "sa(n)" and 6 "mu(tsu)" creating "samu" which is a shortened form of "samui" (cold) as well as the exclamation for being cold.
- In the story, the last uttering of "samu" can refer both to the cold of the weather as well as the coldness of the people who sent him there all alone (we get the image he is sent there as a reporter to talk about the cold weather).
