1月29日 「南極の日」
January twenty ninth,
Antarctica Day (“Nankyoku no hi”)
Ace
Why are you eating shaved ice when it's this cold.
Jack
Today is Antarctica Day. If you eat shaved ice together with the one you like, you'll become happy!
Ace
What is that for bull... Before you get the chance to become happy, you'll get the runs.
King
On cold days like these, if you eat a stew beef bowl together with the one you like, you'll become happy!
Ace
That doesn't even have anything to do with Antarctica Day...
Jack
Why are you always acting like this? Today I finally want to hear you explain yourself! There is no cure bone in your body!
King
You've got a point there... It's exactly because a guy is attractive, good-looking, he has to fit in. Bye the way, what do you have there?
Jack
This is... Nothing. It's nothing, really.
Ace
Hmm, whazzat. Show me! Eh?! A penguin?!
King
A stuffed animal?
Jack
Because... it's Antarctica Day... and it's cute...
King
That's... Great!
Ace
From now on it'll be "penguin", penguin.
Jack
Just drop it!
Notes:
- Shaved Ice - The Japanese phrase was, kakigoori. It is usually eaten during summer and is a dish of shaved ice with a syrup poured over it to sweeten things.
- Stir Fried Beef Bowl - Nabe yaki gyuudon. This is basically a gyuudon (a bowl of rice or noodles topped with baked beefstrips and sause) prepared in a nabe (hotpot).
